چکیده
Aim. Cryoballoon ablation (CBA) is one of the methods for catheter pulmonary vein isolation (PVI) paroxysmal atrial fibrillation (AF). Left additional lesion (LAAL) to PVI were proposed eliminate extrapulmonary AF triggers. Nonetheless whether lesions improve CBA effectiveness not clear. Methods. Primary procedures performed during 2017-2021 analyzed. The study group (Algorithm group, n=82) was recruited prospectively in 2019-2021. As first step all pts. In those who on sinus rhythm (SR) after PVI, induction attempts with burst pacing performed. Pts induced and stayed underwent LAAL at left ganglionated plexus area. case stable SR (non-inducible AF) procedure finished. If inducible or did terminate CBA, second set - LA posterior wall lesions. still terminate, restored by electrical cardioversion. control (Control n=94) formed retrospectively from patients routinely only achievement criteria 2017-2019. continued, There no procedure. Results. Algorithm Control groups comparable terms clinical, demographic electrophysiological characteristics. At 12 months postoperatively, higher than (78.0% vs. 62.8%, p = 0.044). No adverse effects found. Conclusion. Thus, stepwise approach increases long-term period does affect risk complications.

Comparison of pulmonary vein isolation using cryoballoon versus conventional radiofrequency for paroxysmal atrial fibrillation.
The aim of this study was to compare the results of pulmonary vein isolation using conventional irrigated radiofrequency (RF) approach versus the cryoballoon (CB) ablation. From January 2008 to December 2011, a total of 426 patients with drug-resistant symptomatic paroxysmal atrial fibrillation underwent pulmonary vein isolation as the index procedure by conventional manual RF or CB ablation at...

AIMS First-line ablation prior to antiarrhythmic drug (AAD) therapy is an option for symptomatic paroxysmal atrial fibrillation (PAF); however, the optimal ablation technique, radiofrequency (RF), or cryoballoon (CB) has to be determined. METHODS AND RESULTS The FREEZE Cohort Study compares RF and CB ablation. Treatment-naïve patients were documented in the FREEZEplus Registry. Periprocedural...
متن کاملPulmonary vein isolation for paroxysmal and persistent atrial fibrillation.
BACKGROUND The pulmonary veins (PVs) have been demonstrated to often play an important role in generating atrial fibrillation (AF). The purpose of this study was to determine the safety and efficacy of segmental PV isolation in patients with paroxysmal or persistent AF. METHODS AND RESULTS In 70 consecutive patients (mean age, 53 +/- 11 years) with paroxysmal (58) or persistent (12) AF, segme...
متن کاملParoxysmal atrial fibrillation ablation: Achieving permanent pulmonary vein isolation by point-by-point radiofrequency lesions
Pulmonary vein isolation by point-by-point radiofrequency catheter ablation constitutes the cornerstone of catheter ablation strategies for the treatment of atrial fibrillation. However, despite advances in pulmonary vein isolation ablation strategies, long-term success rates after ablation remain suboptimal, which highlights the need to develop techniques to achieve more durable lesions. Strat...
متن کاملCryoballoon ablation in young patients with lone paroxysmal atrial fibrillation.
INTRODUCTION AND OBJECTIVES Long-term efficacy following cryoballoon ablation of lone paroxysmal atrial fibrillation remains unknown. We describe long-term follow-up results of the single cryoballoon ablation procedure. METHODS Pulmonary vein isolation was performed in 103 patients (72 male; median age 52 years) with symptomatic lone paroxysmal atrial fibrillation. The end-point of this obser...
